South of Market Community Action Network (SOMCAN)
The South of Market Community Action Network (SOMCAN) is a multi-racial, community-based organization, serving low-income immigrant youth and families in SoMa and greater San Francisco since 2000. SOMCAN organizes, supports and informs the SoMa community through leadership development, advocacy, direct services, and referrals.
Veterans Equity Center (VEC)
VEC was originally established to provide services for Filipino World War II veterans, VEC has expanded its services to include low-income seniors, families, people with disabilities, immigrants, LGBTQ, formerly incarcerated and homeless individuals. VEC assists these groups through case management, counseling, free legal clinic, health services, and affordable housing opportunity assistance.
West Bay Pilipino Multi-service Center
In 1968, West Bay Pilipino Multi-Service Center (West Bay) was founded by local activist activist Ed de la Cruz to address the most pressing socioeconomic challenges facing the Filipino immigrant community living in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMA) District
